Haeun is majoring in Biosystems and Biomedical Sciences at Korea University, where she is developing a strong interest in research aimed at advancing human health. She aspires to contribute to disease treatment through epigenetic mechanisms that, rather than being fixed by inherited genes, can be regulated by environmental factors and life experiences. Her primary research interest lies in the reversibility of aging. While aging has long been regarded as an inevitable process, she views it as a treatable condition. With this perspective, she joined the Yang Lab to explore strategies for reversing age-related changes and promoting healthy aging. Haeun aims to investigate how the disruption of cellular identity plays a causal role in aging, while developing aging models to apply epigenome-targeting strategies for intervening in age-related changes. Outside the lab, she enjoys listening to music, spending time with adorable animals, traveling, and exploring good food spots.
