Keun Hong Son

Postdoctoral fellow

Keun Hong is a comparative evolutionary biologist who completed his PhD at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Seoul National University.

His work is driven by a profound fascination with nature's outliers. He integrates an evolutionary perspective with comparative biology to understand how exceptionally long-lived species across the tree of life naturally resist aging, suppress cancer, and achieve remarkable tissue regeneration. Rather than viewing biology through the lens of a single model, he explores the vast diversity of life to uncover the fundamental rules governing extraordinary biological resilience. Ultimately, his goal is to decode these unique evolutionary adaptations and translate these insights into innovative, life-extending solutions for human health.

Research Interests
