Undergraduate student

Minjae is an undergraduate student at KAIST majoring in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and Electrical Engineering. He is fascinated by how the brain develops, adapts, and declines with age, and he aims to study these processes from both biological and technological perspectives. He believes that understanding brain and neuronal aging is key to uncovering the mechanisms of human intelligence and neurological disorders. He is especially interested in epigenetic modifications, which link molecular changes to large-scale alterations in brain health. By studying how epigenetic regulation affects development and aging, he hopes to contribute to strategies that extend lifespan while preserving cognitive vitality. Although still at an early stage of his scientific journey, he is eager to learn from mentors and peers, refining his perspective on the interplay between epigenetics, neural development, and aging. Through his undergraduate research, he seeks to build a foundation for becoming a researcher who bridges neuroscience and engineering, contributing meaningfully to science and society.
