SeungA Cho majored in Microbiology and Molecular biology during undergraduate studies. While learning about neurodegenerative diseases in the elderly, she became interested in the broader and fundamental molecular mechanisms of aging itself.
She aims to elucidate the causal relationship between brain cell aging and the loss of cellular identity, an aspect increasingly recognized as a defining feature of aging. From an epigenetic perspective, she seeks to explore strategies to counteract aging by regulating gene expression in a cell-type-specific manner for therapeutic purposes, ultimately benefiting human health.
Throughout her graduate studies, she aspires to continuously develop how to grasp the broader context of research, ask meaningful questions as a researcher, and use data to explain and answer them.
