Ph.D. student

Seunghyun received her B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from Korea University. During her undergraduate studies, she became fascinated by how aging profoundly affects cognitive functions and quality of life. Driven by a strong desire to better understand and address this challenge from a biological perspective, she decided to pursue graduate studies in brain and cognitive sciences and joined the Yang Lab.

Currently, she investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying the loss of cellular identity as a potential driver of aging. She is also interested in exploring strategies to reverse age-related changes by regulating epigenetic information. Through her research, she anticipates identifying potential therapeutic approaches for aging-related disorders, including neurodegenerative diseases.

Seunghyun believes that although aging is an inevitable process for everyone, it does not have to remain an unsolvable limitation. Ultimately, she hopes to contribute to creating a world where aging is no longer something to fear.
